What a cookie is

In one sentence: a cookie is a small file that the site stores on your device in order to remember something between one page and the next.

Without cookies, every page would be a new visit: the site would forget that you signed in to your account, which room is being held for you and which language you are reading in.

This Policy says which cookies Reserveon uses, what each one is for, how long it lasts and what happens if you block them.

The four cookies we use

In one sentence: there are four, all of them stored by us, all of them session cookies, and none of them serves advertising or audience measurement.

tuggi_guest_session — your session. Stores the session identifier of whoever signed in to the guest account. It is what keeps you signed in between pages. It is only stored when you sign in to the account.

tuggi_panel_session — the partner's session. The same, for whoever operates an accommodation provider's panel. It exists separately from the guest cookie because a hotel's front desk is a shared computer: whoever signs in as a guest must not drop the session of whoever is working there, and the other way round.

tuggi_checkout_hold — the room being held for you. Stores the key of the hold created in the checkout and the draft of the contact details you typed. It is because of it that leaving the screen and coming back finds the same hold again, with the same counter, instead of creating another one. It is only stored when you enter the checkout.

NEXT_LOCALE — the language. Stores the language you are reading in, so that the next visit starts in it. It is only stored when the language you chose is different from the one your browser announces.

The first three are stored with the httpOnly (no script on the page reads them), secure (they only travel over an encrypted connection) and sameSite=lax (they do not accompany a request triggered from another site) protections. None of the four has an expiry date: all of them are erased when you close the browser.

What we do not use

In one sentence: there are no audience analytics, advertising, social network or third-party cookies on this site.

We do not use Google Analytics, social network pixels, heat maps, session recording or third-party cookies of any kind. There are no third-party scripts on our pages, and the typefaces are served from our own origin — not even they make a connection to another domain.

Nor do we store anything merely because you visited the listings: for as long as you do not sign in to the account and do not start a checkout, the site stores no cookie at all, with the exception of the language cookie described above.

If one day we come to use measurement or advertising cookies, two things happen first: this Policy changes, and we come to ask for your consent to them — which is what the LGPD requires of processing that is not necessary in order to deliver the service you asked for.

Why we do not ask for your consent today

In one sentence: the four cookies are necessary in order to deliver what you asked for, and a necessary cookie does not rely on consent.

Keeping you signed in, holding the room in the checkout and remembering the language are parts of the service you requested. The processing of that data relies on the performance of the contract and on legitimate interest — art. 7º, V and IX, of Lei 13.709/2018 (the LGPD) —, and not on consent.

That distinction between a necessary and a non-necessary cookie is the one in the guidance document *Cookies e proteção de dados pessoais*, of the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority. That is why this site does not display a cookie consent request: there is, here, no cookie that requires one.

How to block or erase them

In one sentence: everything is settled in your browser, and the price of blocking is not being able to sign in to the account or complete a booking.

Every browser allows you to block cookies, erase the ones already stored and set rules per site. That lives in your browser's privacy settings, and the change applies to every site, not only to this one.

Closing the browser already erases our four, because none of them has an expiry date. Signing out of the account also erases the corresponding session cookie.

If you block our cookies, the site remains browsable — you see hotels, prices and policies — but you cannot sign in to the account, you cannot keep a unit held during the checkout and, consequently, you cannot complete a booking.

Changes to this Policy

In one sentence: the list above is the real list, and it changes on the same day the site changes.

A new cookie, a cookie that ceases to exist or a change in the purpose of one of them appear here on the same date on which they come to apply, with the date of the version recorded at the top of the document.
